Residential Rough-In Wiring

Residential rough-in wiring

Rough-in is the stage where the quality of an electrical installation is really decided. Once the drywall goes on, everything behind it is difficult and expensive to change.

These photos show new circuits run through open framing — cables supported and protected properly, boxes set to the right depth for the finished wall, and enough conductor left at each box to make a clean termination later.

We plan outlet and switch positions with the homeowner at this stage rather than after, because moving a box on paper costs nothing and moving it later costs a day.
